| | 90s rock | ] | Hello Livejournal friends. How are you? Been a while!
In any event, just wanted to let you know that my band, The Kingfish, is headlining the Juneau Street Leinie's stage this Saturday, June 6th at 8PM at Riversplash! in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the off chance that you a) live in the vicinity b) have no pre-existing plans for that date/time or c) want to hear a bunch of stuff that they hardly even play on the radio anymore, come check us out! It'd be great to see you! I'll even buy you an overpriced beer if you come say hello!
That is all. Thanks for reading, and maybe I'll see you this Saturday!

| Crazy Storm 2007 |

| | crazy | ] | First, to all my friends in Chicago, I hope you are all safe and sound, with no property damage.
To my friends not in Chicago, boy howdy, what a storm just came through here. Right now 250,000ish people in the Chicagoland area are without power. There is a car on my block where I usually park completely demolished by a huge tree. There are 5 more trees down on my block. At least, however, you can drive down my block. Several adjacent blocks have trees down blocking the road. Most of them have crushed cars beneath them, and have downed power of phone or something lines. As you can tell, I have power. And phone (internet). This is the most dstruction I've ever seen a storm cause in Chicago. Several blocks from me, trees are uprooted...like, ripped out of the ground. There are unconfirmed reports of funnel clouds, but the city is swearing this was all caused by wind gusts (which were hurricane strength or something.) Lauren was home during the storm...I was not. When she heard the tornado sirens, she went to the basement. There is debris from trees EVERYWHERE. I helped someone move a tree off their car.
Ok, so that sounds like it was written by an eight year old. Ok, maybe I'm giving myself too much credit. I just wanted to get it all out. Hope you all are well. |

| | The Sounds Of Work - Simon and Garihatemyjob | ] | Mid-week birthdays...not quite one weekend, not quite the next. I get to leave work in an hour and a half, and go to dinner with my beautiful girlfriend.
Life is pretty good.
Tizzle to the Nizzle...er...29.
People who are 29 are old. I am not.
I'm not saying anything depressing this year. That's my birthday gift to everyone else!
In closing, go Bears. |

| | Winter Wonderland - Joe Pass | ] | Tonight I'm throwing my annual "Forcing People To Watch My Two Favorite Christmas Movies" party. It's going to be awesome. The party grows every year. This year I'm making tasty festive italian food. Lauren is making Tom & Jerrys (a batter based alcoholic beverage common to Wisconsin). I'm most pysched because honestly this month has made me it's bitch pretty much (A Long December...Eric, I'm looking in your direction with my eyebrow raised), and therefore I have yet to feel any of the mythic "Spirit Of Christmas". I know, I know...it's all a sham...but usually I feel...something...around this season. This year so far...nothing. So, I'm hoping to get there tonight. I mean, if Bill Murray playing a jerk, and Bobcat Goldthwaite playing a drunk don't do the trick, well then yippie kai-yai-yay motherfucker, because Bruce Willis is going to beat Alan Rickman again just like he does every year. If neither of those work, then liquor will. I can't lose.
Now I have a machine gun too. Ho Ho Ho.

| Wow! What a Jaguar! |
[Dec. 5th, 2006|05:54 pm] |
From AP's review of Apocalypto:
"If you've ever wanted to see a jaguar bite off a man's face, this is your movie."
I wasn't going to see it...but...I have always wanted to see a jaguar bite a man's face off... |
